Fujitsu offers enterprises greater flexibility in selecting the most suitable connectivity of entry-level disk storage systems to server hosts. ETERNUS DX60/DX80 systems are now available in a choice of three base models - Fibre Channel, iSCSI, or SAS. In addition, enterprise-class Solid State Drives (SSD) will allow ETERNUS DX80 to serve service levels for business-critical applications, which require the highest IOs per second. These enhancements will offer customers new ways to interface and lower their operational costs.

Dr. Helmut Beck, Vice President Storage Business at Fujitsu Technology Solutions says: The Fibre Channel versions of both systems had a great start and have been selling very well since their launch in June. Regarding performance they excelled ahead of all competitor systems, proven in various independent tests. The enhancements of the ETERNUS DX60/DX80 now provide further customer benefits, e.g. Solid State Drives allow higher performance levels, particularly to support database operation. With the launch of the new interfaces, we expand not only our Dynamic Infrastructures portfolio but we also successfully position ourselves in further market segments. From a customer perspective, Fujitsu is one of very few IT infrastructure vendors to offer businesses a 'connectivity of choice'.

ETERNUS DX60 and ETERNUS DX80 are a new generation of disk storage systems with enterprise-class reliability. Especially designed for small- and medium-sized businesses, the ETERNUS DX60/DX80 systems offer highly sophisticated reliability, are easy to manage and configure, and provide an affordable entry into network storage.

Moreover, they include lower-cost Nearline SAS drives instead of the more expensive SAS drives. The ETERNUS DX60/DX80 systems are scalable so that companies do not need to buy a new system when their business grows, because customers can easily scale up the existing systems. In addition, the ETERNUS DX60/DX80 includes high-end features for free, such as RAID migration, Data Block Guard, Redundant Copy, Disk Encryption and more.
