With an established relations between channel and customer, Canon is now focusing on last mile, which is  to shape its market share. Company is now focusing on increasing its market share with partners enablement say its tier 1 or secondary partners. To strengthen its relationship with partners, which is growth path for company, Canon BIS has taken initiative to connect to its secondary partners with the announcement of Partner enablement program ROCKS which is to Reach Out to Channel for Knowledge and Sharing Program. Canon has regrouped existing and new partner program under one umbrella ROCKS.

The program is designed to enable effective information exchange between partners and company. The new program has four pillars. The first is to connect with sub distis and secondary partners thru partner excellence portal where 118 channel partners can log in order and interaction. Second is Gurukul which company has extended with certain modification. Third is Impressions which include technology road shows to help channel partners to make them learn new technologies also partners get chance to bring their consumer and  the final is Biz Shot to shoot information with quarterly newsletter.Communication which is two ways always create big difference in business and to make it possible Canon will introduce feedback model along b2b blog which currently they have for consumers only.

Canon is escalating its channel approach with enhancing the channel reach to Canon for which company has set target to increase its channel meet up to 75 which will be attended by 2000 CEPs by 2010 which is been 50 in 2008-09 and attended by 1200 CEPs. Currently 250 SPs graduated from Gurukul but by 2010 canon planned to graduate 300 SPs. Company is also planning to increase its education thru seminars therefore planned 50 seminars to be completed in 2010.

Elaborating on the program, Puneet Datta Senior Marketing Manager, Canon BIS Division, said, In 2007 we strengthened our position into the Laser MFD space by appointing 500 CEPs and in a short span of time of about only 1.5 years, we have established the base of 1200 CEPs .
